Zo is het begonnen : de allereerste webpagina, op 13 november 1990.

Internet bestond al een tijd, maar aan CERN (Organisation européenne pour la Recherche nucléaire) in Genève creërden Tim Berners-Lee en Robert Cailliau een publiek systeem van hypertext op het net. Door het world wide web werd het mogelijk om met/in een browser de pagina’s te lezen die op websites toegankelijk zijn.

Dit is het originele logo, ontworpen door Robert Cailliau.

En hieronder de originele eerste pagina (oorspronkelijk http://nxoc01.cern.ch/hypertext/WWW/TheProject.html, maar nu weer te bekijken op http://info.cern.ch/hypertext/WWW/TheProject.html). Het font was Times New Roman, maar mijn oude drupal-programma schijnt dat hier niet weer te geven.

The WorldWideWeb (W3) is a wide-area hypermedia information retrieval initiative aiming to give universal access to a large universe of documents.

Everything there is online about W3 is linked directly or indirectly to this document, including an executive summary of the project, Mailing lists , Policy , November's W3 news , Frequently Asked Questions .
